Application Development Mgr @ City of Chattanooga (Jul 2014 – Nov 2019)

In this position, I led a team of 6-8 web developers and designers where we configured, deployed, and maintained all web servers for the City of Chattanooga, including such duties as creating new virtual servers in AWS and GCP; installing, configuring, optimizing, upgrading, and maintaining multiple MySQL/MariaDB instances; I pioneered the use of Docker within the City of Chattanooga and created deployments that leveraged such additional technologies as Docker Compose and Docker Swarm (this was a little before k8s became a thing!). I also led the team through many website redesign projects including: Air Pollution Control Bureau (https://apcb.org); Chattanooga Public Library (https://chattlibrary.org); Outdoor Chattanooga (https://outdoorchattanooga.com/); and Chattanooga Head Start (https://chattanoogaheadstart.com/). I and my team also pioneered the use of ReactJS and NodeJS microservices for the My Chattanooga project.
